DEFEATING Drug Use With God’s Word

John 10: 10 -- The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it  more abundantly.

Yesterday, I was given a citation from an officer of the law. The adversary has set speed limits so low that it is difficult, to say the least, to drive that slow. However, you must REMEMBER that every time you exceed the speed limit, you are in Satan’s ballpark. This ticket that will come through the mail was issued based on the hearsay of two (2) so-called citizens in cars. The officer was not even present.

Law enforcement agencies are supposed to protect you from criminals, especially in the form of drug dealers, not be bothered by ‘squealers’ who will look for any excuse to use their, often unnecessary, car phones. You can only rely on the God and Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and God’s Word to truly ‘protect and serve’ along with countless other blessings. If you do not believe, study, and apply God’s Word as a priority in your life today, you are asking for trouble.

James 2: 19 – Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

God gave us a blueprint for living and He only asks one thing of us and that is to KEEP HIM FIRST in all aspects of our lives.

Matthew 6: 33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

With police officers spending most of their time taking calls from idiots with car phones, they often lack the time and manpower to direct their efforts towards more serious matters such as drug trafficking and crime. You, as a Christian, need to develop a relationship with the God and Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to be truly protected from man’s devices and methods that are evil and criminal in nature.

II Peter 1: 3 -- According as [he by] his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain  unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to [his own] glory and virtue.

[The word "hath" is not in the closest to the original Biblical texts available today and can be deleted.]

The word ‘godliness’ in the above verse is your true and vital spiritual relationship with God. It is between you and God and it is no one’s business but your own. You must have this relationship to have peace in today’s paranoid society.

Only God’s Word studied, believed, and applied, HEALS. Although the world will offer many counterfeit alternatives, THEY WILL ALL FAIL.

"SAY NO TO DRUGS" is a start, but it does not work effectively in the long run. What do you say "yes" to? Drug enforcement agencies need to realize this. Let me give some examples of what happens to a person who quits a bad habit such as overeating, alcoholism, or criminal behavior.

A person may lose a lot of weight, but then start smoking. Which one is worse? An alcoholic may quit drinking, but then sink into depression. A criminal supposedly rehabilitated will more than likely return to crime after being released from prison.

Why? Because you must REPLACE the bad habit or lifestyle with something productive, beneficial, and positive – GOD’S WORD rightly divided.

THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS TEACHING.

To teach people that they can "Just say no" to drugs is counterproductive. It does not work. Ask a former drug user. The drug campaign in this country today is not as effective as it can be. How can we afford to send American soldiers to fight foreign wars and spend billions of dollars and yet we cannot AFFORD to increase border controls at drug crossings? Why can’t we spend what we spend on foreign wars for ONE DAY, to increase the amount of law enforcement ships and vessels that are supposed to catch drug traffickers on our waterways? It is because the enemy puts his shroud of organized confusion over the whole issue of drugs and people are actually FEARFUL to trust God and His Word to solve the problem. The integrity of God’s Word is man’s basic spiritual problem and always has been.

II Timothy 1: 7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear [moral cowardice]; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

At this point, it is essential that I warn you about something God states clearly in His Word. I may sound like I take a radical viewpoint here, but I am simply taking God’s point of view and that will always clash with the world’s viewpoint. The devil himself will get you to WASTE YOUR TIME on second-rate causes to take your peace away from you if you allow it. He will make every attempt to burn you out fighting his organized confusion. Let God seek vengeance as He states He will.

Romans 12: 19 – Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather  give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is  mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

One of Satan’s favorite tricks and traps is to get you to seek revenge. Do not fall for this device – it is very destructive to your own life especially in the long run. This type of behavior will always catch up to you. I know this by experience. Learn the Scriptures for ‘anger’ by heart and repeat them in your mind when this urge comes upon you. The following is my favorite scripture to ward off anger and the desire to seek revenge. We are not perfect and we will all experience these emotions.

Psalm 37: 8 – Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

God’s Word will help you and will never let you down.

Romans 10: 11 – For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed [disappointed in his expectation].

II Timothy 2: 4 – No man that warreth [serves] entangleth himself with the affairs of this  life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. ["to be a soldier" is not in the text and can be deleted.]

Learn these Scriptures by heart. They will get you out of more potential messes than you can ever imagine such as politics, religion, and all forms of organized confusion. I love you and I promise you that the above Scriptures and all of God’s perfect Word will help you immensely IF you learn and apply it. GOD RESPECTS CONDITIONS. And never take a teaching to an extreme. You must also remember that self defense is a Biblical concept – so find the balance. Ask God. He is more than willing to help you.

James 1: 5 – If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men  liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

The word "liberally" means ‘willfully without a second thought’.

Remember, if you want to help a drug abuser get delivered, you teach him or her God’s Word with the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation. God will help you. Teach him or her just to "say no" and the god of this world will make sure that your efforts fail. That person will either turn to another bad habit or one that is even worse. Be a doer and not just a hearer of God’s Word and watch what God will do in your life and in the life of the person you are helping.

James 2: 17 – Even so faith [pistis – believing], if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

The greatest ‘high’ you will ever receive is from keeping God first and foremost in your life. God created life – HE KNOWS HOW TO LIVE IT.

Romans 16: 20 – And the God of peace shall bruise [crush] Satan under your feet shortly [quickly or immediately]. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be  with you. Amen.
