How Satan Defeats HIMSELF

INTRODUCTION:

I Corinthians 2: 7, 8 -- But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes [Satan and all of his devil spirits] of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

The adversary, since this time mentioned above, AWAYS defeats himself. For you as a Christian, to realize this into manifestation in your life, you must be fulfilling certain conditions – God must be first and foremost. In the first place, you must:

II Timothy 2: 15 -- Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. [emphasis added]

Not only must you study, but YOU MUST APPLY THE Word of God in your everyday life. You must ‘believe’ and that implies ACTION on your part. This action, in the Bible, is referred to as RENEWING THE MIND. Whether you believe it or not, the mind does not change once you are born again. You must ‘put on’ the thoughts of Christ and in turn, become an imitator of God because Christ always did God’s Will.

Romans 12: 1, 2 -- I Beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable [logical] service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ephesians 5: 1 -- Be ye therefore followers [imitators] of God, as dear children;

Even though you may not be a dedicated Christian, this teaching is really so simple that it can be understood by almost anyone. Now that we’ve let God’s Word set the stage in this introduction, we shall begin with actual real life examples and of course, examples from the Scriptures. If you believe what is written, you will receive a great deliverance in your life. You must learn to look at the LONG RUN, and not the short run when studying, learning and applying this teaching. However, many times, God works quicker than we expect and in a surprising, unexpected manner.

Everything that happens is spiritual in nature. That’s what the Word of God says and that’s what it means. You compete against people influenced by devil spirits. It’s always a spiritual competition. But don’t take my word for it and remember not to think evil. The love of God drives the enemy out of a person so don’t go around thinking everyone is possessed or you will be sinning and you will be miserable also.

Ephesians 6: 12 -- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places [from on high].

Now you either believe that or you don’t. You have free will. If you don’t believe it, argue with God – I never argue with anyone. Truth needs no defense – you can only witness to truth.

I believe the best way to begin our examples is with the first two (2) Scriptures mentioned above [I Corinthians 2: 7, 8]. Let’s repeat them:

This was Satan’s biggest mistake. Now instead of having only one Jesus Christ, that same power is within EVERY BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN. Most Christians simply don’t know it until they study this Bible teaching site and begin to renew their mind. THE RENEWED MIND IS THE BELIEVER’S KEY TO POWER. If the adversary did not crucify Jesus Christ, he would not have this major problem. He made a big mistake. He defeated himself.

I John 3: 13 -- Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

When you are a strong standing Christian, you will receive tribulation (mental pressure) and unjust persecution from people who hardly know you or have ever spoken to you. WHY? Because the enemy wants to stop you any way he can since you are learning and moving the rightly divided Word of God – THE ONLY THING THAT DEFEATS HIM!!! He will mainly work through people, but also through situations, places, and the environment. Now before we go any farther, I want you to know and always remember this Scripture:

I John 4: 4 -- Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he [God in Christ] that is in you, than he [the devil and his devil spirits] that is in the world.

I have neighbors that I never did anything to. God let me know many years ago that they would be a problem. They complained about my driving so I slowed down and sold the muscle car. I was sick of the car and it was actually a great blessing to me when it was gone. Satan, working through these people (pawns) did manage to agitate me quite a bit. BUT WHAT WAS THE END RESULT? I finally got rid of an albatross around my neck and now I have more time to do what I want to do and love to do – TEACH GOD’S WORD!!! I cannot begin to explain the feeling of freedom I felt when I sold that car. I always despised the color and it was too expensive to paint. SO OVERALL, AS A RESULT OF UNJUST PERSECUTION BY PEOPLE, I now was much more blessed and felt much more free because I was travelling lighter. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, I HAD A LOT MORE TIME TO WORK AT THIS WEB SITE.

[By the way, when I was unjustly accused of reckless driving (all lies), I had no violations on my record for 10 years – no points for 10 years – and I have yet to hit a car or person in an accident of any type for 36 years.]

So what did the enemy do when he manipulated these people to lie and complain? The end result was deliverance for me and more of the rightly divided Word of God shoved down the adversary’s throat. He made a big mistake. He defeated himself.

In case any of you are wondering what type of people can be problems for you, it can be almost anyone. In my case, the woman has a spirit of divination, the husband is a functioning alcoholic possessed by a spirit of leviathan, and their son jumps in front of cars indicating a spirit of insanity. The adversary really goes out of his way to get at me. He sends some of his strongest and I go at them with no fear. Everyone who harms a child of God gives way to the wrath of God. It would be better off for that person not to be born. There is a lot more to this, but I will stop here. I do not mean to scare anybody, but truth is truth. The following is what God says He will do to your enemies:

Psalm 70: 2 -- Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt [mentally].

I have watched thorns in my flesh (people) put four (4) "House For Sale" signs up in the last five (5) years. There are only seven (7) homes in the development where I live. Light dispels darkness. Just wait on God and watch how He will protect you IF you are keeping Him first. Do what God tells you to do. He does not want you to fellowship with darkness.

II Corinthians 6: 14 -- Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Be careful here. The enemy is a master of deception.

II Corinthians 11: 14 -- And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

II Corinthians 11: 3 -- I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Always remember that the true God and Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ NEVER brings harm to a person. He ALLOWS the enemy to do so because He is just even to the adversary. The term "wrath of God" is a figure of speech.

Romans 16: 20 -- And the God of peace shall bruise [crush] Satan under your feet shortly [quickly]. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

I am going to put this teaching in the simplest of terms at this point. Let’s say the enemy is attacking you in a certain area AND you are trying your BEST with God’s Word to renew your mind and change your thinking and in turn, your ACTIONS. We can pick almost any example. Let’s pick "thorns in the flesh". These are people sent to you to hinder you from moving with God’s Word.

II Corinthians 12: 7 -- And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Paul's thorn in the flesh was people. People were the thorns in the flesh; the people were the messengers of Satan; they were the ones who buffeted Paul's ministry.

Numbers 33: 55 -- But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

This is how the Bible interprets itself. That is why we should never guess at the meaning of a Scripture. People have guessed at what Paul’s thorn in the flesh was for years. Now you know the truth of the Word. There is no greater hindrance when it comes to learning and moving the Word of God than people.

The adversary can only pull this trick on you for so long. Eventually, you will wise up and ‘politely excuse’ yourself and move on.

I feel compelled to give you a real life example of what happened to me early on in my walk with God. My so called best friend and I were witnessed to at the same time in a shopping mall. We were invited to what was called a Branch meeting at a YMCA on the following Sunday where about 40 believers were present. They were visiting our area for one year.

Although my friend seemed most interested at the time, when the person who witnessed to us left, my friend seemed to begin to change his mind. Satan moves quick if given an open door. I was at a desperate part of my life and the invitation was a breath of life for me. This believer who witnessed to us spoke about the Bible with authority and confidence, but he wasn’t religious at all. My friend was quite popular and had much pride (fear) in many ways and seemed embarrassed to attend the meeting. He kept asking me about it and I said I was going. HE DID NOT.

The teaching and teacher brought tears to my eyes. As this woman of God taught, the water streamed down my face. I heard "sanity" for the first time in my life. The topic of the teaching was about POSITIVE BELIEVING according to the Word of God. After I left the meeting, I went from suicidal to hope and joy for the first time in my life! I wanted to tell my friend about the meeting. While speaking to him, I couldn’t help notice how NEGATIVE he was about something he knew nothing about. From that point on, Satan had a plan. My friend NEVER turned on to God’s Word and slowly became a hindrance to me in the most subtle ways.

In time, I became wise to this trick and began to avoid this apparent ‘thorn in the flesh’. I gave him many opportunities to come to fellowships, meetings, and to take Bible classes and he ALWAYS HAD AN EXCUSE – ALWAYS. He came to one fellowship with his girlfriend and was all amazed at the peace and love there. Then he never came back. I know this is not easy, but Jesus Christ said that brother would go against another family member, mother-in-law against sister-in-law, etc., etc., etc. The enemy is so obnoxious and nauseating that he will stoop as low as he can to stop God’s Word from moving and to stop you from getting delivered. He enjoys working through the ones you love the most and he will if he gets the chance. You must decide to put God first — before your friends, parents, all family members – even before your spouse. God wrote the book -- I didn’t. But you’ve got to understand that this is the best way to live. You cannot fellowship with unbelievers or unbelieving believers and get blessed. God strictly forbids this FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.

Matthew 6: 33 -- But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Ephesians 5: 11 -- And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

The renewed mind is very difficult at times, but God knows what is best. The enemy will tempt you, but GOD WILL ALWAYS MAKE A WAY OUT so that you can bear it.

I Corinthians 10: 13 -- There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

You have free will. God NEVER oversteps a man’s free will. To sum up the above true account concerning thorns in the flesh [people], I eventually got rid of my so called friend and he eventually married his girlfriend. He would not heed my warning to him about her character and she eventually divorced him, took the kids and he now lives alone. He works a high pressure job and spends his leisure hours in a bar. He once made a remark to me that the biggest mistake he made in his life was marrying what was his wife. NO! The biggest mistake was NOT GOING WITH ME TO THE FIRST BIBLE BRANCH MEETING WE WERE INVITED TO. That’s why his life was eventually destroyed.

John 10: 10 -- The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might life and that they might have it more abundantly.

Satan’s ministry is to do three (3) things: steal, kill, and destroy. That’s all he can do and he does it well.

You must understand that the adversary pulled this trick on me with my so-called friend time and time again. Eventually I became wise to his devices and countered them. If I didn’t, my life also would have been miserable and I too would have been defeated. I now NEVER let unbelievers get involved in my life. The enemy kept that trick up so often with my old best friend that I simply can never forget it and I NEVER fall for it. I chose to stand on God’s Word and have a wonderful life, much prosperity, and I wake up every day and do as I please. God always takes care of me in every area of my life. And I am laying up many rewards for when Christ returns.

But you have got to see the point. The enemy can no longer use this deceptive trick on me anymore. He must resort to something else. But because he did send me many people who tried to discourage me, I became VERY STRONG in this dangerous area. I simply can’t be moved. Can you say that? Satan made a big mistake by trying over and over again to use people to pull me away from God’s Word. He defeated himself. His major deception is now paralyzed and powerless in my life. And what is the end result for me? I am much stronger and sharper spiritually and experience greater freedom. The secret to Satan’s success is the SECRECY of his moves. Once you can expose him, he fails.

I gave you two (2) involved examples regarding people as hindrances. Let’s move on to different, simpler, and shorter examples reaching toward our conclusion of "How Satan Defeats HIMSELF".

What did Christ say to many people that he delivered from sickness and disease? ". . . . . go and sin no more". Can you imagine being delivered from a crippling disease that came about as a result of your lifestyle? You may have been a compulsive gambler, a prostitute, just plain rude all the time, possessed and controlled by sensual (sexual) matters, slothful (lazy), envious, covetous, ……… and the list can go on and on. If you’re trying your best to walk with God keeping Him first and foremost, He promises you that He will reveal to you what area(s) of your life needs serious work and the details regarding the necessary rearrangement of your thoughts and actions. Now let’s say God tells you that you need to stop being covetous and jealous of others as a condition of STAYING HEALED? You learned this by His Word or by revelation. Are you going to change or will you stay the same?! If you are insane, you will stay the same, am I right?

Philippians 3: 15 -- Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

God has foreknowledge and when he created the angels, He knew what would happen. He created the adversary SO THAT YOU WOULD HAVE A CHOICE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL. You have free will to love God or not to love Him. He does not want robots who have no choice.

If, based on the Scripture above, God reveals your weak area(s) to you, God EXPECTS you to do something about it – namely, renew your mind and APPLY His Word to every situation and circumstance you encounter especially in regards to your weakness. That is how you defeat the adversary and become spiritually stronger and stronger. GOD WILL TEACH YOU HOW if you study and apply His Word. Remember, God respects CONDITIONS, not persons.

Now, back to our healing example. Whatever sin that person was habitually committing, they surely should quit sinning unless they want their sickness or disease to return! – by their own free will. And what does the devil eventually do?

James 4: 7 -- Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Always remember the first part of the Scripture: FIRST, you must submit yourselves to God!!! THEN, you must resist the devil, AND THEN he WILL FLEE FROM YOU.

Now, you are a stronger and overall better person. Your sinful habit and lifestyle no longer exists and you are obviously more blessed and joyful. You are set free from the bondage and control of the enemy’s devil spirit(s). It’s the sinners that need help the most and God will oftentimes help that sinner because that is the person who is most thankful. NEVER go back to your old ways once you are delivered even though Satan will work overtime to tempt and control you. Remember, he will flee from you, but not immediately. Have patience and wait on God. The enemy does not let go too easily, but eventually he must flee.

II Peter 2: 22 – But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

The end result: The enemy must move on away from you and look for someone else to parasite from. You now stand for God and are no longer a defeated sinner.

II Corinthians 5: 17 – Therefore if any man be in Christ [renewed mind], he is a new creature [creation]: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

As you can see, these examples could go on and on. In layman’s language, you can say that the enemy defeats himself when you ‘learn a lesson’. Surely, you’ve heard that said before. Satan has endless tricks, but you paralyze his power more and more as you relentlessly continue to renew your mind. You must always remember what the Word of God says pertaining to this subject. Here are just a few Scriptures you should commit to memory:

Romans 8: 37 -- Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that [who] loved us.

Romans 8: 31 -- What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

AND NEVER FORGET THE SCRIPTURE THAT DESERVES REPETITION:

In conclusion, there are countless examples of how the enemy defeats himself, usually in the long run. We can go on for what seems like forever, so we are going to end this teaching and I will believe and pray for you that you keep God first. Study and apply the Word every day and resist the adversary and he will absolutely flee from you. God bless you and I will be praying for you.

James 2: 19 -- Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. [emphasis added]
