The Importance of BURNING THE
CHAFF
Have you
ever wondered why you cannot think as clearly as you would like to? And why you
feel burdened down with all the cares (material things) of this life?
"And sold
their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man
had need". --
Acts 2: 45
"Now when
Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest
thou one thing: sell all that thou hast,
and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come,
follow me.” --
Luke 18: 22
Does God
want you to sell the things that you need? Of course not. He wants you to get rid of the ‘chaff’. Just what does this mean? Let us keep it simple.
The
American Heritage Dictionary Of The English Language (New College Edition) defines
‘CHAFF’ as:
"TRIVIAL OR WORTHLESS MATTER".
I can’t
help but get a kick out of that definition, but this is really not a laughing
matter. You MUST understand that too
many material things can weigh you down and make you feel like you have an
albatross around your neck. It feels
like something is choking you. Do you
know the feeling? Many people understand
this, but how many DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?
Do you
have an excess of ‘stuff’ around your house?
Such as magazines that you will never read, a car or two up on blocks
that you can’t seem to get to? Do you
want to feel more free and have the peace of God in
your life? Then SELL them or take them
to the local junk yard. Clean house.
Believe me, I am speaking from experience, YOU WILL FEEL MUCH BETTER.
If there
is one thing your personal adversary likes, it is junk! Devil spirits love clutter and filthy
areas. That is where they hang out. No matter what stage you are at in your
Christian walk and renewed mind, you can apply this principle as soon as
possible and see immediate results. God
bless you, I know you are going to do it.
"Let all
things be done decently and in order." -- I Corinthians 14:
40
That is
what the Word says and that is what it means.
You will never manifest the more than abundant life when you have
‘chaff’ which is clutter and junk and dirty or even filthy areas in your home
or garage.
"The
thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [Jesus Christ] am come that they might have life, and that
they might have it more abundantly." -- John 10: 10
Somewhere
along the line, even the secular world has come up with a very familiar saying
that I am sure you have heard:
"Cleanliness is next to godliness." This is quite true. I believe, once again, that this teaching
will have an impact on your life and you WILL apply some of the principles here
– at least one. This is referred to as
RENEWING THE MIND and it is your key to power.
It is not only important to learn the Word of God, but you must APPLY it in your life.
"I Beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that
ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which
is your reasonable service. And be
not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what
is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." -- Romans 12: 1, 2
God is
saying to prove Him. God’s Word will
never let you down.
"Lay not
up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and
where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your
heart be also." -- Matthew 6: 19 – 21
I would
like to give you the literal translation of these three (3) verses according to
usage.
"Let
not your thoughts be centered in material things where fears and worries breed
defeat and frustration, and where the doubts break through and steal your
thoughts: But let your thoughts be
centered in the Spirit, where neither fear nor worry breeds defeat and
frustration, and where doubts do not break through and steal your
thoughts.
For where your thoughts are, there will be your heart be also."
You must
put your trust in the Lord, that His Word and advice to you is true.
"Trust in
the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall
direct thy paths." -- Proverbs 3: 5, 6
And
remember if you are just starting out, DO NOT CONDEMN YOURSELF. God understands that we must learn His Word
and renew our mind. It is a continuous
process.
"There is
therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus." [The
verse stops here. The scribe’s eyes
looked at the end of verse 4 and made this mistake]. -- Romans 8: 1
It is
actually sin to condemn yourself.
Now on a
completely different aspect of this teaching, let us say that you have a lot of
money. God does not want you to get rid
of your NEEDS, but excess junk has to go.
It is very difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
"It
is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to
enter into the kingdom of God." -- Mark 10: 25
If you
feel that you are in this position, you must learn to meditate on (THINK on) God
throughout your day.
"Set your
affections on things above, not on things on the earth." -- Colossians 3: 2
It would be
easy for me to go on and on about this subject, but the premise is very clear
and simple. BURN THE CHAFF IN YOUR HOME
AND IN YOUR LIFE. Live simple and clean
and God will surely bless your life in a way that passes all your
understanding.
Not too
long ago, I had about four cars with only two drivers in our home. I finally sold the muscle car and I felt a
great burden lifted from my soul. I felt
like I guess it feels like to be released from prison. And the person was blessed with the car and
with the price. Many other material
things I gave away and some went into the dumpster. I know it sounds difficult and, at times, it
is. But the blessing that follows is not
understandable. You can only apprehend
it, you cannot comprehend it.
I can only
believe that you received some type of blessing from this teaching. Surely it makes sense to you to some
extent. Remember, God will never
overstep your free will. YOU MUST ACT ON THE WORD FIRST, THEN YOU WILL SEE THE RESULT
COME INTO MANIFESTATION IN YOUR LIFE.
God bless
you. You are God’s best. It’s time you acted like it. As I have said many, many, many times before: "Do your best and God will do the rest."
"I can do all things through Christ which [who] strengtheneth me."
Philippians 4: 13
Literal: I am ready for everything and equal to
anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me.
