The Natural Realm Vs. The Spiritual Realm
Believe it or not, there are two different kingdoms in this
world. The spiritual kingdom or realm
supersedes and is greater than the natural realm. What does this mean to most people? They may find it confusing because they do not know anything
about the Word of God. By the time we
are through with this teaching, you are going to know the difference and the
importance between the two different kingdoms.
For to be carnally
minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans
8: 6
The carnal mind is operated by the five senses. The spiritual minded person functions
according to revelation from the spirit of the true God. If God created all life, and He did, then He
surely knows how to live life to its fullest.
This will result in life and peace to the greatest extent. But the carnal mind which is operated by the
five senses is referred to as death. Do
people who live by the carnal mind -- are they dead? No, this is a figure of speech which we are beginning to cover in
this website. To be carnally minded
which is death, is like being dead. You
are never blessed, but inside you are really miserable and confused. Life or peace. Which choice are you going to make?
Because the carnal mind is enmity
against God: for it is not subject to
the law of God, neither indeed can be. – Romans 8: 7
How simple this teaching is, but yet it is more
important than it is simple. The Word
of God after many years of studying is very simple to understand. The carnal mind which is operated by the
five senses and not by the Spirit of God, is in conflict with God. Why?
Because it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. It does not fit or agree with what God teaches. It is in conflict. We all know what conflict is.
It is at least something that disagrees with another thing. So God makes this part that is referring to
the carnal mind very simple for us to understand. Then God goes on to the next verse.
So then that are in the flesh cannot
please God. – Romans 8: 8
When you study verse seven, God explains Himself
pertaining to natural man. And I want
you to know that natural man is a man that lives by the five senses. He is a carnally minded person. Now take a look at verse eight. God tells us that this is why those who are
in the flesh and live by the five senses cannot please God. They live by the rules of the god of this
world who is Satan. We, as believers
live by the God and father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and therefore,
if we renew our minds to His Word, we live life to its fullest and we have the
peace of God which passes all our understanding.
I am going to stop there just to give you an idea of
how much knowledge there is available to us simply in the book of Romans -- 3
verses. These verses clearly illustrate
the difference between the natural realm and the spiritual realm.
There are almost countless illustrations, chapters,
and verses that will teach you this principle.
Let's move to another chapter and give some more examples.
Let us
see if you can understand which realm the following example falls under.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty
wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of
bondage. – Galatians
5: 1
It should be obvious to you that the Scripture is
referring to the spiritual realm. First
of all God is saying to stand fast therefore in the liberty or freedom
wherewith Christ hath made us free. And
not being entangled with the yoke of bondage.
What is the yoke of bondage? It
is being captured or falling into a trap that the world has set for you. God is saying do not be entangled with this
type of situation. In another part of
this Website, God warns us about entanglements. I can tell you from my different experiences that a worldly
entanglement can partially destroy your life.
It has been said that the smart man walks away, but it's a tough pill to
swallow. One of the worst entanglements
that you can be involved in is a legal entanglement. Courts, laws, police procedure, is corrupt in almost all
ways. I did do a teaching on the
subject and you should look it up, find it, read it, and never forget it. The enemy will try to get you entangled in
some type of bondage to keep your mind from being peaceful and from having a
great life. He will steal your time by
getting you entangled in negative
circumstances. Don't ever forget
this. Look the other way and keep away
from the enemy unless God wants you to strike a blow, because you know the blow
that you are going to give will make a difference to God and will help
Him. This seems to happen very
seldom. Here we are with one verse of
Scripture in the book of Galatians and we come up with a massive amount of
wisdom and guidance. It's quite amazing
isn't it? You should be thinking this
if you are renewing your mind and believing that God's Word is true because
every day that passes by will prove to you that this is true. That reminds me. Let's go to a different epistle and take a look at another very
clear but very powerful example.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by
the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And
be not conformed to this world: but be
ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that
good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. – Romans
12: 1, 2
In the spiritual realm, God is in imploring you by
His mercy that you would present your bodies a living sacrifice which is wholly
and acceptable unto God -- because this is your logical service.
Isn't this a wonderful Scripture? God is begging us by His mercy to give our
lives and our bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and acceptable unto God
because that is what we should be doing.
Take notice how God says a living sacrifice. We are no good to God if we are dead so take the best of care of
yourself. This is all related to the
spiritual realm which as you remember is much greater than the natural realm
which is composed only of the carnal mind or the five senses. Now let's take a look at the second verse
now which is really important because if we don't adhere to it, we are
conforming to this present world which is to be carnally minded which is death.
God says something that is extremely important in
our everyday lives. There are so many
temptations in this world that we have to be very sharp and very aware of how
we can be influenced. Getting right to
the point, God says to be not conformed to this world, but to be transformed by
the renewing of your mind -- by God's Word - so that we can prove to ourselves
what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God. You see that when we renew our minds and we
do not ever conform to this world, we will prove to ourselves that God is great
and that He is acceptable and is perfect along with His Will. You must remember that His Will is His Word. We must know God’s Word so that we will
never conform to the world. We will
have knowledge and the wisdom of God's Word.
God does not want His people to be stupid, but to be sharp and to be
wise.
We have covered only six Scriptures pertaining to
our subject and have covered an immense amount of information pertaining to two
different kingdoms. We have a choice
every day as to which kingdom we are going to live by. For some of you, this teaching is very
simple. But for some, it may open up
your eyes and one thing you should know is that you have free will to do
whatever you please every single day of your life. The true God never oversteps your free will. Now there is a spiritual principle. People think that God makes them do things
or He helped them to stop smoking.
That's not really true. You have
free will to go about and do whatever you feel like doing every single
day. God wants you to love Him by your
own free will and He will never ever force you to do so.
This teaching may appear to be repetitious to some
believers, but to others it is an extremely important teaching. I am now going to turn to the book of
Ephesians and will give you some more similar examples of the world verses the
Word. Let's take a most popular
Scripture and one that I have gone over maybe 100 times. But yet it speaks clearly regarding our
subject.
For
we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places [from on high]. -- Ephesians 6: 12
Now take notice of the first phrase of the Scripture. It says we do not deal with flesh and blood. It is talking about the natural realm which is the realm of the five senses which is the same thing as being carnally minded. This verse does not compare contrasting kingdoms. It only speaks of the natural realm. But let's take a look at the next verse.
Wherefore
take unto you all the whole armour [all the resources] of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day [the
evil one] and having done all, to stand. – Ephesians 6: 13
Now we see the contrast with verse 12. God is switching to the spiritual realm by telling us to take on all the resources of God. And where are those resources? They are in the Word of God. So throughout every teaching that I have ever put together, it is inherent that we study. If you don't have time to study, you might as well toss the whole thing. I myself, have to make time to study so that I can put on all the resources of God so that I could withstand the devil in the evil day – which is this day. At the end of the verse, God says to stand. This is the only way that we can stand and that is by renewing our mind and that is by studying God's Word. There is no other way. That is all that God asks of us. Is it too much to ask to be able to live the more than abundant life?
You should be
able to see by now that the whole Word of God talks about these two kingdoms
and we have free will to choose which kingdom we are going to live by. This is the most simplest teaching I have
ever put together because no matter where I go in the Word, this principle
exists. Let us take one more example. I can go to any book of the Bible and find
these principles. So they must be very
important and they must be principles that we must apply. If we do not apply them, we will bring
calamity to our lives. Pick a book. Let's flip to Philippians. I should stick to teaching the Word and
leave the jokes to someone else.
Finally, my
brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write
the same things to you, to me indeed is
not grievous, but for you it is
safe. Beware of dogs [backbiters, the adversary],
beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. -- Philippians
3: 1, 2
This verse is telling us to
rejoice in the Lord. It is also telling
us that if the same things are written to us it is not a problem, but for you
it is safe. It means we are re-
teaching some of the Word of God. It is
well known that we learn by repetition and this all falls into category of the
spiritual kingdom, doesn't it?
Now take
a look at verse two where God is saying to beware of Satan who is nothing but a
backbiters and evil throughout along with all of his evil workers. Obviously, this part of the verse is
speaking about the natural kingdom where the enemy prevails. Beware of dogs, beware of
evil workers, beware of the concision.
It should
become obvious to you by now that the Word of God speaks about the natural
kingdom and the spiritual kingdom. This
spiritual kingdom is always stronger than the natural kingdom. But your personal adversary will trick you
into thinking that this is not true.
You must remember one Scripture and you must commit it to memory. With this Scripture, I am going to conclude
this teaching which has been one of the shortest teachings I have ever
arranged. But to continue to repeat
what I have said makes no sense at all.
The point is made and it should stay in your heart for ever. There are two kingdoms and one is from hell
and the other is from heaven. By which
kingdom are you going to choose to live?
I can do all things through Christ which [who] strengthens me. – Philippians 3: 13
Do not
ever forget this Scripture because it will make you believe that the spiritual
kingdom is always greater than the natural kingdom. Also you should remember that greater is he that is in you than
he that is in the world [I John 4: 4].
These Scriptures alone will make it possible for you to live the more
than abundant life. That is why Jesus
Christ came and that is why he accomplished what he did for us.
